Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod 2012

Cornell University Glee Club

USA

Founded in 1868, the Cornell University Glee Club is one of the oldest collegiate male choirs in the United States.

Since its founding as the Orpheus Glee Club it has been a home to thousands of young men who have traveled in all walks of life, from music and medicine to agriculture and astronomy.

The group has performed songs of Bernstein on Malaysian television and songs of Shostakovich in the Moscow conservatory, sung in more than a dozen languages and logged hundreds of thousands of miles singing as near and far as the students of Cornell and rural school children in Taipei.

However this is the group’s first ever visit to the Llangollen International Eisteddfod where they hope to entertain and make friends.

Messageboard

Thank you for your magnificent singing.

From the time of your performance in the small church in Llangollen on Friday afternoon, together with Laulajat & Guelph you were my absolute favourite.

A special thank you for your breathtaking first song in the church with a beautiful solo performance.

Would be great to see you in Finland in our VI International Leevi Madetoja Male Voice Choir Competition in April 2015.
